Leonardo da Vinci movie scrapes bottom of ideas barrel

The worst movie pitch is one that fills its listeners with a sense of familiarity and dread. Merely hearing a title or a logline crowds your head with scenes of tiresome inevitability. Perhaps we are old. Perhaps we are cynical. Perhaps we have seen Too Many Movies. But the proposed Leonardo da Vinci flick makes us want to emigrate from this planet.

Fart or art?

You really know where you are with the Apatow crowd. Rogen, Hill, Rudd, Baruchel, Segal, Franco, Carrell – the last couple of years have seen us getting very used to those fellas rolling out the guy shtick, acting petrified of women, and smoking an awful lot of dope. Yet it seems some in the company harbour artistic ambitions beyond playing dumb in comedic cash-hoovers. Step forward James and Jay.
