A contemporary Alice in Wonderland

Angela's picture

A two-part Christmas TV movie in the form of a contemporary Alice in Wonderland will be gracing your screens this month. Alice is a karate instructor who falls for one of her students. After slipper Alice a magical ring he is kidnapped forcing her through a looking glass and into Wonderland in pursuit.

This is not Wonderland as you might imagine it, it’s dark and gritty. The Red Queen is kidnapping humans, imprisoning them in her casino and selling their happy emotions. Alice teams up with the Hatter to try and free her boyfriend in this magical adventure not too dissimilar to 2000 TV mini series, The 10th Kingdom.

Tim Curry plays the Dodo, Kathy Bates is the Queen of Hearts, Harry Dean Stanton is the Caterpillar, Colm Meaney is the King of Hearts, and Andrew Lee Potts is the Hatter.
