Robin Hood and his marauders (not his band of merry men any more; you may also note that this will be a tights-free zone; likewise, forget any thoughts of singing) face up to the newly crowned King John, after the death of King Richard. The film sees Robin rise to infamy and spark the legend that long-dominated Sunday teatime telly schedule.

Russell Crowe is Robin Hood, Cate Blanchett is Maid Marian, Mark Strong is Sir Godfrey, Matthew Macfadyen is the Sheriff of Nottingham, Kevin Durand is Little John, Danny Huston is King Richard, and William Hurt is William Marshall. Robin Hood is due in cinemas May 14, 2010.
