Almost Alice

Angela Burton
Cheshire Cat

Excited about Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland? Then what a treat we have for you. The latest promotional round up includes two new character posters, a behind the scenes clip and some stills and sketches from the movie that is now being dubbed the unofficial sequel to Lewis Caroll’s book.

The character posters have branched out - we now have a poster each for the Cheshire Cat (voiced by Stephen Fry) and the White Rabbit (voiced by Micheal Sheen). They share the same style to previous posters of Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Red Queen, the White Queen and the Tweedles.

You can buy the pop/punk ‘inspired by’ album, Almost Alice on 2 March, three days before the film's release. The name for the album was taken from a line by Alan Rickman’s Caterpillar. When Alice goes down the rabbit hole for a second time, all her old Wonderland friends doubt she is the same person. They need the original Alice to help them overthrow the tyrannical Red Queen, so to make sure she is who they think she is, she is taken to the Caterpillar, who after inspection declares she is “almost Alice”.

The Cheshire Cat poster worries me. How can a cat use a tea set? Surely it lacks the opposable thumbs.
