It’s always an honour to win an award. And to walk away with an armful is beyond words, especially when they’re Razzies. Or is that – except for? That would depend on who you’re asking.
Forget about The Hurt Locker winning big at the Oscars, it’s all about the Razzies and its big winner, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Despite being the tenth-highest grossing picture of all time in the US, drawing in a massive $836 million worldwide, Transformers could do no worse, taking home three Golden Raspberries (out of a possible seven) for Worst Picture, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay and being described as “overlong, over-loud, under whelming toy-based sequel”. Ouch.

Sandra Bullock manages a first, taking away the Oscar for Best Actress and the Razzie for Worst Actress (All About Steve). They’ll compliment each other nicely on her mantelpiece. The closest anyone has come to winning both of these was Halle Berry, who won an Oscar for Best Actress in 2002, then went on to win a Razzie for worst actress in 2005 for Catwoman. She picked up the award herself and parodied her own Oscar acceptance speech, with mock-weeping and actressy hysteria. Bullock followed her lead in collecting her own award, coming onstage with a trailer full of All About Steve DVDs, which she insisted her audience watch. Here’s her Razzie speech.

“I think that this is an extraordinary award, and I didn't realize that in Hollywood that all you had to do was say you'll show up and then you'd get it. If I had known that, I would have said I was appearing at the Oscars a long time ago…Something tells me you all didn't really watch the film, because I wouldn't be here if you really, really watched it and understood what I was trying to say…This is the deal I'm going to make you. Seeing how when I said I would show up, I miraculously won. I will show up next year if you promise to watch the movie -- and I mean really watch it -- and really consider if it was really and truly the worst performance. If you're willing to watch it and then I will come back next year, I will give back the Razzie…I'm willing to go through page by page of my dialogue, so we're going to be here for a while. I will read the line the way I read it in the film, then I want anyone who wants to give me a line reading of how I could have done better.”

Musical numbers were also hot on the winners list with all three Jonas Brothers (a Disney boy band) being awarded the worst actor Razzie for playing themselves in Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience. We are happy to take the Razzies’ word for it and take a pass ourselves. Billy Ray Cyrus was the other musical offender, “riding his daughter's coattails and playing her dad” in Hannah Montana: The Movie.

This year’s Razzies also took into account the fact that it’s the end of a decade, adding Worst Picture of the Decade, Worst Actor of the Decade and Worst Actress of the Decade to their awards list. You can check out all the nominations and Razzie award winners below (winners are in bold).
