Here at Indie Movies Online, we bloody love The Killers, the excellent black comedy from director Carlo Ortu which UK, US, Canadian and Australian-based users of the site can watch in full and for free right here. It is therefore a pure unadulterated pleasure to provide notice of a new competition asking you – yes, you! - the talented and handsome general public to design a new poster for the movie.
Written and directed by Carlo Ortu, The Killers stars Matthew Jure as easygoing Mike, who is hired as a hitman, and enlists his ex-soldier buddy Sean (Ian Attfield) to help him out. However as the duo attempt to carry out their assignment, it becomes clear that cold-blooded efficiency is a quality in short supply for either of the wannabe assassins. If you haven't watched it yet, then do so. And then proceed to the next paragraph.
We are running a competition in conjunction with the folks over at Empire to design a new poster for The Killers. The winning poster will be chosen by Carlo and us, and will be used to promote the movie. It will be used in homepage promotions on Indie Movies Online and also, very likely, in print press advertising. The competition will be running for the next few weeks, you can find the design assets for the film here, and entries need to be posted on the Empire forum, a link for which can be found here.
So all you design whizzes out there, get designing! But not before you read the following terms and conditions.
It is essential that all artwork does not contain any elements that infringe on other copyrights. Be entering the competition you grant Indie Movies Online wholesale permission to use the artwork to promote the film indefinitely. The boiler plates (or credits) will be added to the poster afterwards so bear this in mind with the layout.
