An early Christmas present in the shape of RDJ

There a brand-spanking-new Iron Man 2 trailer, with plenty of added Whiplash, and a new Sherlock Holmes clip of Mr Holmes making a prison visit. What could be a better early Christmas present than a double dose of Robert Downey Jr?

Well, a golden dwarf to tend to your every whim, obviously. Failing that, an Iron Man 2 trailer will do nicely. Tony Stark is as cocky as ever but, wait, who’s that? It looks like Iron Man has found a new nemesis in the shape of badass Mickey Rourke. But wait a sec – who do we have here? Another Iron Man! That would be War Machine (Don Cheadle, taking over from Terrence Howard), bringing our hero total to two and our villain count to three, assuming ScarJo’s Black Widow takes up bad guy duties. There’s little sign of Sam Rockwell’s Justin Hammer, so hopefully the next trailer will give him a bit of a showcase.

Will the good guys win out? May 2010 holds the key.

With the countdown to Sherlock Holmes (and Christmas) dwindling, it’s time for another clip. Here we can see Robert Downey Jr’s Holmes meeting an imprisoned Lord Blackwood (Mark Strong), as he faces the gallows. But is there a larger game afoot? You’ll have to wait until Boxing Day to find out.
