Was it really just a fortnight ago that we were mournfully cramming our sweat-stained clothes into our suitcases as we prepared to depart Cannes? Yes. Yes, it was. So, with memories of the Cannes Film Festival 2010 fast receding into the distance, allow us to take this opportunity to provide a neat 'n' tidy round-up of all the scores we dished out to the movies we caught at Cannes this year.
Between myself and Indie Movies editor Emma, we caught a grand total of 36 movies at Cannes 2010, although review marks were only assigned to 32 of those. Office schlocker Fired, Jean-Luc Godard's ker-razy Socialism, and the killer tyre of Rubber were all otherwise served by news articles, while Everything Will Be Fine, from Allegro director Christoffer Boe, will be subject of a future piece on Indie Movies. I have also excluded the two market screening reviews (future-sport anime Redline and the one, the only Trash Humpers) from this big round-up, in favour of confining myself to the films that were part of the official programme at Cannes this year.
So, in descending order of quality, here are the full Indie Movies scores from Cannes 2010:
