Friday equals new free films on Indie Movies Online, and as today is Friday that must mean we owe you some new free films. Here they come. We have a total of 12, and boy, are they an exciting bunch this week. There is action, comedy, sci fi, mystery, drama, and prehistoric adventure, with Ed Burns, Michelle Yeoh, Randy Quaid, Dennis Hopper, Daryl Hannah, and Rose McGowan amongst the featured actors.

The Auteur Theory is about a documentary film-maker who begins to investigate a student film festival where the entrants are being murdered one after another. A savvy satire on the pseudo-intellectualism and posturing of student film conventions.

The Clan of the Cave Bear is a rugged adventure tale, starring Daryl Hannah as Cro-Magnon girl Ayla, separated from her own family and taken in by a Neanderthal tribe. A natural risk-taker, she is forced to try and survive within her new clan, as well as facing the myriad dangers of the harsh and unforgiving prehistoric world. Nominated for an Oscar in 1987, The Clan of the Cave Bear boasts strong talent behind the camera, with a script by Lone Star writer John Sayles and direction from Michael Chapman, who served as cinematographer on Taxi Driver and Raging Bull.

It is a double-helping of Elle Driver herself this week, as we also deliver a second Daryl Hannah-starrer, in the Amazonian form of Attack of the 50-Foot Woman. A remake of the 1958 cult movie of the same name, Attack of the 50-Foot Woman finds Hannah's downtrodden wife and daughter growing in stature, both inside and out, following a close encounter with a UFO. Daniel Baldwin co-stars in the science fiction satire, which is directed by Best in Show and This is Spinal Tap comedy hotshot Christopher Guest.

The Elevator finds a wannabe screenwriter taking destiny into his own hands, when he traps a successful producer (Martin Landau) in an elevator and pitches him four strange scripts. A portmanteau movie in which nothing is as it seems.

The central character of Sleeping Dogs Lie is Amy (Melinda Page Hamilton). Her parents think she is perfect, and so does her new fiancé – until a secret from her youth gets out and ruins it all. She is left isolated until she finds a new and unexpected love. But will she chance her new relationship and reveal her secret again? Written and directed by Police Academy star Bobcat Goldthwait, Sleeping Dogs Lie competed for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.

Martial arts actioner Silver Hawk stars Tomorrow Never Dies and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon actress Michelle Yeoh as Lulu Wong, a Chinese socialite with the masked alter-ego of Silver Hawk. The movie finds her taking on evil mastermind Alexander Wolfe, who is bent on world domination via a mind-control device.

Romantic comedy Mr. Fix It finds David Boreanaz playing Lance Valenteen, the relationship mechanic of the title. The emotionally detached Valenteen is a lothario-for-hire, employed by men to hoodwink their ex-girlfriends into taking them back. But when his latest assignment pairs him with fiery Italian Sophia (Alana De La Garza), Valenteen finds himself falling for her.

Evil Alien Conquerors is all about My-ik and Du-ug, two stupid, extraterrestrials sent to Earth from the planet Kabijj. They have only 822,000 tilkrons (two days) to succeed in their goal of conquest, but they are waylaid by their encounters with Smirnoff Ice, women, and a very elusive cow.

Based on the novel of the same title by Alice Hoffmann, The River King follows Detective Abel Grey as he investigates the mysterious drowning of a student from an exclusive boarding school. With the deceased student pegged as an oddball loner, and the school eager to avoid scandal, Grey finds his inquiry frustrated at every turn. Determined to uncover the truth, the detective seeks help from a shy teacher (Jennifer Ehle), and the dead boy's only friend (Twilight actress Rachelle Lefevre).

All the Way is based on Frank Sinatra's visit to Australia in 1974, with a small-time promoter getting into strife when his stakes his entire career on booking Ol' Blue Eyes for a countrywide tour. It should be a sure fire money-spinner, but when Sinatra (played by Dennis Hopper) insults the national press, the entire tour is put in jeopardy.

The Last Stop finds a group of strangers trapped in an out-of-the-way motel after a heavy snowfall. Their situation grows worse when a recently-murdered man is found and the group realise that the killer is snowed in with them and there is no escape.

In Black Cadillac, three young men returning home from a night out in Wisconsin are terrorized by the driver of the titular vehicle, who pursues them through isolated woodland. But which of them has a secret to hide? A menacing thriller, starring Randy Quaid.
