You know its nearly Christmas when children dress up as talking stars, ready to tackle the school nativity play. Except this nativity is organised by Martin Freeman and has a Hollywood exec on the guest list – or does it? If you see it early you could help The BBC Children in Need Appeal.
Go and see a screening of the Christmas comedy at Sunday 22 November, 2pm at one of the following cinemas, and 50% of your ticket price will go straight to Children In Need. The following cinemas will host the event: Odeon Cinemas in Sheffield, Birmingham, Coventry, Manchester: Trafford, Kingston, Glasgow: Braehead, Edinburgh: Wester-Hailes, Liverpool One, Newcastle: Gateshead, Southampton, Norwich, Cardiff, Brighton, Tunbridge Wells, Leicester, Oxford George Street, Southend, Guildford, Bristol and London: Whiteleys.
Martin Freeman plays Mr Maddens, a frustrated, under-achieving primary school teacher who has an annual battle against Jason Watkins’ Gordon Shakespeare from the posh independent school down the road. Each teacher tries to get their play awarded a five-star rating from the local newspaper. Tired of coming in second best, Maddens pretends that a Hollywood producer of his acquaintance is interested in his production. Unfortunately, his little lie snowballs and the news spreads.
Nativity also stars Ashley Jensen, Jason Watkins, Marc Wootton, Pam Ferris, Ricky Tomlinson and Alan Carr.
