The Town, Black Swan, Somewhere, Machete: what haven't we seen? We're into our second week here at Venice, so here's a round-up of our reviews so far. Plus, check out the madness that occurred when Noomi Rapace, star of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, showed up for the critics' screening of Pernilla August's Beyond, in which she plays the lead.
The sunshine has disappeared and in its place there was a Biblical thunderstorm that dampened our shoes but not our enthusiasm for the films on show, though we had to wade through inches of rainwater to get to the screening rooms. Anyway, here's a run-down of the films we've reviewed so far. Click the links below to read them.

Danny Trejo kicks butt in Machete, Stephen Dorff chills in Somewhere, Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner take over The Town and Natalie Portman thrills in Black Swan.
It's Vincent Gallo versus the wild in Essential Killing, Michelle Williams breaks out the bonnet in Meek's Cutoff, Toni Servillo is Gorbaciof, and Catherine Deneuve plays Potiche for laughs.
We've also reviewed Miral, Promises Written In Water, Norwegian Wood, Naomi, Zebraman, The Passion, Post Mortem and Angele and Tony.
Finally, Tuesday saw the Critics' Fortnight screening of Pernilla August's Beyond, which stars The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo's Noomi Rapace. Pernilla, Noomi and the rest of the cast arrived to watch the film and take questions at the end. It was a brilliant film which we'll be reviewing a little later in the week but in the meantime, here's Noomi getting mobbed.
