Shane Meadows’ debut short (in which he also acts) is Rashomon by way of Tarantino. Four guys, interviewed by the police, give different accounts of an armed robbery.

Ridley Scott’s first finished film was this short, shot in 1965 and featuring his brother Tony and parents. A teenage schoolboy plays truant and bikes around a small, industrial English town as we hear his thoughts play out, in a stream-of-consciousness narration. 

 This TV play, written and directed David Cronenberg, explores one of his enduring themes: obsessive relationships with technology. A group of bike fanatics determine to get their hands on a Ducati 900 Desmo SuperSport owned by a rich guy, by any means necessary.
